Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.
You will work 37 hours per week based in Craigie High School.
This is a fixed term post for 2 years from employment
The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area and the funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19. Please ensure, if you are applying for the Modern Apprentice post, that you are between the ages of 16 to 19. You will be asked to bring proof of age with you if you are invited to an interview.
You will have 3 National 4 qualifications, or equivalent, including English and Maths.
The Modern Apprentice will work under supervision to provide sports support to allow the team or Service to deliver professional high quality and customer focussed services. During the 2 year Apprenticeship, they will undertake a SVQ 3 in Leisure Management (scqf level 7) through full time employment and Modern Apprenticeship framework.
You will have good organisational, written/oral communication and team working skills, and experience in the use of computers including Microsoft Office suite. An understanding of Data Protection and Confidentiality is also essential. Have a flexible approach to work, be friendly and approachable and have good interpersonal skills.
You will be enthusiastic and committed to completing full Modern Apprenticeship and achieving SVQ Level 3 in Leisure Management at SCQF Level 7.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
