Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com Assistant Sports Coaches are required, on a casual basis, to deliver Football classes within a new citywide sports programme. Variable hours are available and may be in multiple locations within the city. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure and Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £7.16 per hour. A Living Wage supplement will be applied up to the equivalent of £8.33 per hour, as appropriate.
1.2 SFA Coaching qualification plus relevant delivery experience.
As a Sports Coach you will assist in the teaching/coaching of a variety of client groups of varying ability. You will assist the delivery of a progressive and developmental programme, maintaining and updating participant records, checking all teaching equipment and ensuring that a safe and comfortable environment is provided at all times.
You will have a general interest in Football and have experience of working with participants of all ages and abilities. The position will involve working with children aged 18mth – 8 years and may include weekend work. You must be able to work effectively with a variety of professional partners, parents and children and possess excellent communication skills. You must have excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work in a team and work independently. You must be strongly self motivated and be able to communicate effectively with children and young people. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and you must be flexible and adaptable. You will be willing to work flexible hours, including weekend work where required, as well as undertaking personal development. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
