Requirements

An accredited qualification, CEng/IEng with CIBSE, Energy Institute (or equivalent) and be an Accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (proof of accreditation number and organisation will be required).

Responsibilities

You will assist the Senior Building Services Engineer and Building Services Engineer in the provision of advisory and prescriptive services within properties, existing and planned, owned or occupied by the City Council, with matters relating to Energy Performance Certification Mechanical Building Services, including, design, specification, installation and use of Mechanical Services installations, including projects undertaken by, or on behalf of, the City Council.

You will produce specifications, sketch proposals, working drawings, site supervision etc of service installations required to facilitate the Dundee City Council’s construction and maintenance programmes.

You will represent the Architectural Services Manager on construction projects emanating from the Division, to ensure compliance with maintenance and design specifications, materials and workmanship standards.

The Individual

You will have design experience in Mechanical and Energy Services, knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM, a good understanding of Energy Efficiency measures, and up to date knowledge of technical standards in Mechanical Services.

You will also be able to operate and contribute within a multi-disciplinary team, manage and co-ordinate Mechanical maintenance, work with minimum supervision, have effective Time Management to achieve project objectives, project programming experience, good report writing skills and be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

An ability to undertake site visits and surveys, including working at height and in confined spaces is essential, along with a flexible approach to working hours, capacity to work unsociable hours if required and commitment to producing a quality service/product within budget and timescale.
