Job Description

Based in Dundee House, you will be part of the Mechanical Services Team providing Mechanical Services Consultancy to City Development and other Council Services. You will work full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Requirements

Incorporated Engineer with Membership of CIBSE or consideration will be given to candidate who has a minimum HNC / HND qualified in Building Services Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, in relevant field and demonstrably working towards Incorporated Engineer status with Membership of CIBSE.

Responsibilities

To provide building services mechanical engineering consultancy service to the Council and its service departments and to external public agencies, as directed by the Architectural Services Manager.

To design, administer and co-ordinate mechanical services on construction projects from inception to completion and carry out management responsibilities in areas as directed by Architectural Services Manager.

To represent the Architectural Services Manager on construction projects and maintenance services projects emanating from the Division, to ensure compliance with maintenance and design specifications, materials and workmanship standards.

The Individual

You will have design experience in Mechanical and Energy Services, knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM, a good understanding of Energy Efficiency measures, and up to date knowledge of technical standards in Mechanical Services.

You will also be able to operate and contribute within a multi-disciplinary team, manage and co-ordinate Mechanical maintenance, work with minimum supervision, have effective Time Management to achieve project objectives, project programming experience, good report writing skills and be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

An ability to undertake site visits and surveys, including working at height and in confined spaces is essential, along with a flexible approach to working hours, capacity to work unsociable hours if required and commitment to producing a quality service/product within budget and timescale.
