Based at Mitchell Street Centre, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
You will have a Degree in Community Development/Planning/ documented evidence of post graduate training or relevant experience of Community Empowerment work.
You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Council’s Asset Transfer and Participation Request strategies. Advising, training and assisting Neighbourhood Services, other Council services and Partnership organisations and agencies involved in the implementation of DCC’s strategy for Empowerment and for developing Community Assets throughout Dundee.
You will have experience of implementing Government policy in relation to community empowerment, social inclusion and regeneration and also of working in inter-disciplinary teams. You will also have experience of the delivery of community empowerment work, providing capacity building support and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of corporate and partnership working. Excellent verbal, written and IT communication skills are also essential, along with the ability to make positive decisions and judgements in complex situations and meet short deadlines. You will be confident, self-motivated, able to work without close supervision and respond positively to situations of challenge/conflict. Flexible working is essential with weekend and evening working where necessary.
