Based at Mitchell Street Centre, the following part time posts are available: 1 x 20 hours per week and 1 x 15 hours per week. These posts are temporary until March 2020. Please indicate in your application which post(s) you are interested in. Previous applicants need not re-apply.
You will have a Professional qualification - BA in Community Learning and Development, or equivalent, and a recognised qualification in Teaching English to speakers of other languages (CELTA/ TEFL).
The purpose of your job is the development of Community Learning opportunities which are responsive to local need and which lead to improved life chances through learning, personal development and active citizenship and developing stronger, more resilient, supportive, influential and inclusive communities. You will develop and provide ESOL guidance and support to Adult Learners which are responsive to need and which will lead to improved communication in English, improved life chances, ability to live independently, and gain entry into employment, training or volunteering, developing stronger, more resilient, supportive, influential and inclusive communities.
You will have experience of developing community based CLD provision, delivering CLD provision in the advertised field, partnership working and monitoring and evaluation. A clear understanding of how the Code of Ethics should be applied to CLD practice is also essential. You will have advocacy skills, be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, and to work evenings and weekends. Basic Disclosure Scotland Check required.
