Job Description

Based at The Shore, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, on a temporary basis until 31 March 2022.

Requirements

You will have relevant qualifications at HNC level or significant employability/training experience.

Responsibilities

As part of the Adult Employability Service, you will have a major role in reducing economic inactivity and developing employability skills in Dundee's residents. The job includes identifying, registering, assessing and supporting employed parents to make further progress in their employment, eg through increased hours, qualifications or training.

You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of employed parents aged 25 plus. Each client will receive a customised programme that will be developed, agreed and implemented by the post holder and will include working with other agencies and partners to enable client aspirations to be achieved.

This post is part funded by the European Social Fund. In line with the conditions of the ESF grant awarded to Dundee City council, 100% of the post holder’s duties will be related the the ESF project the post is funded to deliver.

The Individual

Experience of supporting individuals identify their personal needs and engaging clients in activities and training that help them to progress in employment and a knowledge of employability services in Dundee are required as is experience of inter-agency working.

You will have good written and oral communication and excellent interpersonal skills.

You will also have proven admin and ICT skills. You should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and approachable.
