Job Description
Based at St Fergus Primary School you will work full time, 37 hours per week on temporary basis for two years.

Requirements
You will have 60 relevant credit points towards first year of social work degree (one of HNC in social care or social sciences, K100, K101 or DD100, or E102).
Responsibilities
To improve the well-being and opportunities of children, young people and their families by supporting them to address problems relating to parental substance use.
The Individual
You will have knowledge and experience of the impact of substance use /alcohol use on children and families along with experience of working with relevant service user group.
You will have experience of assessment and care planning, experience of managing own caseload and experience as a team member.
You will have experience of working with risk and ability to identify risk and respond appropriately.
You will have ability to meet deadlines, working on own initiative and have ability to contribute to planning and decision making.
You will have good oral and written communication skills along with personal skills. You will be team player and have ability to predict outcomes and take necessary precautions.
You will be dependable, have time management and be self-reliant. You will have ability to remain calm in a crisis and ability to demonstrate Social Work Values in practice.
You will be required to participate in duty cover for team/service.
You will have full current driving licence and be able to drive both within and outwith Dundee. You will be able to work on occasions after office hours 8am and 8pm.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
