Based in, Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, temporary for one year. For existing Dundee City Council employees secondments will be considered. Line Manager approval should be sought prior to applying for secondment.
You will have an undergraduate degree or equivalent in the relevant area.
You will lead and manage IT project and systems activities, including account management, business analysis, process design, system development, configuration and implementation in liaison with user groups. You will ensure that the business information systems across the services are developed and supported to maximise effective use and achieve identified business aims. You wil work collaboratively with lead officers from management, business, administration and Council partnerships to effectively develop, coordinate and implement solutions across a range of services.
You will have demonstrable experience in project management of programmes of work to completion, experience in translating business process requirements into workflow and data reporting solutions, of analysing business processes, gathering information and working collaboratively to develop business solutions and working in an area associated with IT Service delivery. A significant appreciation of the range and variety of business processes within a local authority organisation and demonstrable experience of administrating and supporting a large information systems for business/service use are also essential. You will also have excellent oral/written communication skills, expert knowledge Microsoft packages particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, eg the creation and exporting of pivot tables in Excel packages, knowledge of applying relational database models, including an understanding of the management overheads in using these tools and be able to work with staff at all levels to develop solutions to complex problems. The ability to use and create information using reporting software, eg Ripplestone, SSRS, Crystal Reports or Business Objects, excellent ability to communicate with and prepare communication for staff at all levels within the organisation, including staff within partner organisations and the ability to use and implement change management processes are also essential. You will be able to work to deadlines, manage and prioritise your own workload, have good time management skills, be able to work in a team environment and with staff at all levels of the organisation and partner organisations and to work flexibly when required.
