Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com Sports Coaches are required, on a casual basis, to deliver Gymnastics, Trampoline, Tennis, Rugby and Netball classes within the current citywide sports programme. Please indicate your sport(s) on application. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure and Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £8.87 per hour.

Requirements

You will have a UKCC Level 2 for Gymnastics/Trampoline/Tennis/ Rugby or a Netball Scotland Level 1 (depending on which sport you are applying for) plus relevant delivery experience.

Responsibilities

As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport section, you will lead in the delivery of the Gymnastics/Trampoline/ Netball/Tennis or Rugby programmes for Leisure & Culture Dundee, coaching to a variety of individuals and groups, whilst adhering, where relevant, to Scottish Governing Body (SGB) guidelines and specified coach to participant ratios.

The Individual

You will have a general interest in Gymnastics/Trampoline/Tennis/Rugby or Netball and have experience of working with primary school aged children. You must be able to work effectively with a variety of professional partners, parents and children and possess excellent communication skills. You must have excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work in a team and work independently. You must be strongly self motivated and be able to communicate effectively with children and young people. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and you must be flexible and adaptable. Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekend work where required, as well as undertaking personal development. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
