Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Parklives, a partnership programme between Coca Cola, Dundee City Council and Leisure and Culture Dundee. We are looking for flexible, dynamic casual coaches to lead sessions which engage all ages. This will be as and when required delivering Physical Activity sessions in various Dundee City Council Parks across the city.
When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure & Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £8.69 per hour.
You will have the minimum qualifications required for the post. Either an NGB / UKCC Level 1 (any Sport), Sports Leaders Award level 2, NC Sports Coaching or an SVQ Level 2 Sports Coaching Award.
As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport Section, you will lead the delivery of Physical Activity sessions for Parklives. This is a partnership programme between Coca Cola, Dundee City Council and Leisure and Culture Dundee. You will be required to coach and support a variety of individuals and groups, whilst adhering to specified coach to participant ratios.You will be engaging and motivating all ages to get active in Dundee’s parks.
You are required to have experience in Practical paid/voluntary sports coaching. Experience working with children from a variety of backgrounds. Experience of planning structured activity sessions. You must have excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to work in a team. You must also have the ability to work independently and be strongly self motivated and have the ability to communicate effectively with children and young people; You must have strong interpersonal skills, be flexible and adaptable and have strong leadership skills. You must have the ability to motivate and enthuse others and be willing to work flexible hours including weekend work and be willing to undertake personal development.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure and Culture Dundee.
