Job Description

Based in the Youth Employability Service, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, fixed term for one year.

The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care experienced applicants up to the age of 29. We would also welcome applications from young people aged 16-19 years living in Dundee who are school/college leavers as well as those not in employment or training.

Requirements

You will have a 3 National 4s or equivalent to include Maths and English.

Responsibilities

The Corporate Services’ Youth Employability Service is part of Corporate Services and European Social Fund funded Dundee Employability Pathway and operates as an integral part of Dundee Partnership’s “Discover Work Service”.

The Corporate Services’ Youth Employability Service delivers support for job seekers and employers in the city. It encompasses a wide network of services delivered by a range of partners. Together, they form a collective approach to supporting people looking for work and employers alike.

To provide clerical and reception support to the Youth Employability Service which is part of the Dundee Employability Pathway. This post is part funded by the European Social Fund. In line with the conditions of the ESF grant awarded to Dundee City Council, 100% of the post holder’s duties will be related to the ESF project the post is funded to deliver.

The Individual

You will have knowledge and understanding of IT systems.

You will have good IT skills, including Word and Excel. You should be approachable, reliable, helpful, be adaptable to change and have a positive approach.

You will be committed and enthusiastic towards completing full Modern Apprenticeship and achieving SVQ L2 in Business & Administration @ scqf level 5 and have an interest in pursuing a career in Business Administration.
