Based at Claverhouse Community Care, you will work part time 30 hours per week, temporary for one year.
The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30. Please ensure, if you are applying for a Modern Apprentice post, that you meet one of these criteria.
You will have 3 National 4 qualifications, or equivalent, including English, or NC in Care, or Foundation Apprenticeship in Care and one National 4 qualification in English, or equivalent.
Undertake duties concerned within the operation of the Community Care provision whilst adhering to the Scottish Social Services Council, Codes of Practice and The Care Inspectorate, Health and Social Care Standards.
You will assist in maintaining service users in their own homes in the community by attending to their assessed personal and social needs. To assist service users and carers in improving the quality of their life.
You will be able to use own initiative, have good verbal and written communication skills and planning and organisational skills.
You will be IT literate and be able to work as part of a team and have a knowledge/ understanding of confidentiality.
You will be able to work various shift patterns, including evenings and weekends. You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
