Job Description

Based within the Learning Disabilities Service, you will work part time, 35 hours per week on temporary basis for two years. The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30. Requirements

You will have National 5 in English at grade A/B and 3 National 4 qualifications, or NC in Care or equivalent.

Responsibilities

You will undertake duties concerned within the operation of the Learning Disability provision whilst adhering to the Scottish Social Services Council, Codes of Practice and The Care Inspectorate, Health and Social Care Standards.

The Individual

You will have the ability to use own initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, planning and organisational skills, IT literate. You will have knowledge/ understanding of confidentiality. You will have team working skills, dependable, self-reliant, calm disposition and a team player with flexibility and adaptability. You will have the ability to work various shift patterns, including evenings and weekends. You will be committed and enthusiastic towards completing full Modern Apprenticeship and to achieving SVQ 3 in Social Care & Health @ SCQF level 7. You will be ability to register with SSSC within specified timescale. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
