Based in Dundee Independent Living Community Equipment Centre (DILCEC), Charles Bowman Avenue, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
You will have a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health Professions Council.
You will provide an effective high quality occupational therapy service to children, adults and older adults who have a physical disability in the community, in the Health and Social Care Partnership's residential and other establishments and in hospitals ensuring effective statutory requirements are met.
You will have experience of working with individuals with a physical disability, working collaboratively with other professionals and a working knowledge of legislation, policy and good practice associated with occupational therapy service provision. You will be able to communicate effectively with individuals and families, undertake assessments, relate positively with colleagues in the Health and Social Care Partnership and other agencies, and prioritise your workload to meet challenges and deadlines. You will also be available to work beyond normal working hours, when the needs of the service demand this, and to travel to undertake the duties of the post effectively. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
