Based in Craigie High School, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, including working with groups of pupils during school holiday periods.
You will have a Degree in Community Education, Social Sciences or SVQ level 4 or above in an appropriate discipline.
You will support pupils as a member of a multi-agency team in a secondary school. The key tasks will involve identification of problems that pupils experience and develop ways to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
You will be committed to supporting young people in school, at home and in the community and will contribute to an interdisciplinary approach dedicated to maintaining the educational opportunity for all young people. You will possess good written and verbal communication skills and have experience of community based youth work for 11-18 year olds. You will also have knowledge/experience of Child Protection. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
