Requirements
You will have a relevant Degree or equivalent and be willing to work towards MRICS status.
Responsibilities
You will lead a team providing a full building surveying service, including contract procurement, cost/budget control and in ensuring that the property section of the department implements and manages a full health and safety regime, for all properties for which it has a responsibility. You will deputise for Team Leader Building Surveying Services when required.
The Individual
You must have extensive property experience in the Building Surveying Discipline and be fully cognisant with CDM15, understanding client, designer and contractors duties and responsibilities.
You will have extensive work experience in a commercial, multi-disciplined environment, providing building surveying services, including: dilapidations, condition surveys, contract administration and defect analysis.
You will also have a good level of construction knowledge and experience preparing and reviewing Fire Risk Assessments and have asbestos awareness training.
You will have the ability to run projects without supervision, to advise and liaise with all levels of staff, contractors, consultants and client groups.
You will have excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce reports on complex issues.
You will have strong decision-making skills with the ability to make decisions and recommendations based on the analysis of options, and to make recommendations based on sound risk management principles and contingency planning, within financial, legal and ethical frameworks.
You will have the ability to motivate team members to achieve high standards of performance, to work under pressure, to meet deadlines, satisfy political objectives and organisational priorities.
You will be able to work out with normal working hours, as the job demands.
