Requirements
You will have full Membership of a CCAB Institute, or the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CMIIA), or equivalent.
Responsibilities
You will assist in the management and delivery of, and make a positive contribution to, the Council's Internal Audit Service, which is a statutory function and fundamental element of the Council’s governance and assurance framework. Guided by the philosophy of adding value, the Service aims to bring a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organisation’s risk management, internal control and governance processes through the provision of an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity.
The Individual
You will have practical experience in an internal audit service or similar assurance and improvement service, experience of delivering audit assignments and conducting file reviews, understanding of the roles and responsibilities of internal audit and knowledge/experience of Internal Audit practices, including Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
You will have excellent communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the ability to work independently and as part of a team along with a pragmatic approach to work and the ability to identify key issues. You will have the ability to ensure that clear and accurate files are produced to support audit findings and recommendations along with skills in compiling and presenting reports to management that consider exposure to risk and contain practical improvements to enable clients to take appropriate action.
You will have the ability to meet deadlines, have highly developed analytical, evaluation and problem solving skills as well as the ability to examine and interpret information.
