Based at Claverhouse Social Work Office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
You will have a Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS.
You will co-ordinate the effective functioning of an integrated child’s planning and meetings framework for children who are the subject of child protection concerns and those who are looked after by Dundee City Council. You will provide independent professional scrutiny of care planning and decision making in respect of children in need of protection, and those who are looked after, by co-ordinating the arrangements for, and chairing Child’s Plan Review Meetings (CPRM). You will ensure that an appropriate Child’s Plan is in place, and is regularly updated, for each child who is the subject of a CPRM, and that the Council is fulfilling its statutory duties and responsibilities. You will carry out a quality assurance role and contribute to process and practice improvement within the Children and Families Service.
You will have proven post qualifying experience in child care and protection, full range of assessment and care planning duties and chairing of professional and/or multi agency decision making meetings. You will have sound working knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice, well developed skills in oral and written presentation, and effective chairing, planning, organisational and decision making skills. You will also be skilled in the use of personal authority and able to challenge, where appropriate, and of working across agency boundaries and assuming leadership role in multi agency fora. You will be able to work occasional evenings and to travel efficiently in the course of your duties. You will be professionally registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. This post is considered regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
