Job Description

Based in various locations in Dundee, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

The working pattern for these posts is currently based on a 10 week rota incorporating a 2 shift pattern of early shifts and late shifts. We are in the process of revising our rotas with a potential of moving to a 3 shift pattern to include waking nights.

Requirements

You will have 3 National 4s, or equivalent and the ability to undertake HNC and SVQ Level 3 training or any other relevant qualification which provides evidence of academic achievement equivalent to or above SCQF Level 7.

Responsibilities

Assist in the creation and maintenance of a high quality care environment in which children and young people are offered safety and security to grow, to help children and young people to make use of services and information as appropriate to their full advantage and to assist in the promotion of effective communication by and with children and young people to this end.

The Individual

You will have experience & understanding of working collaboratively with children & young people & their families & carers.

You will have experience of working effectively in a team.

You will have good communication skills (both written/verbal), understanding the emotional practical & social care needs of young people and ability to undertake Moving & Handling procedures.

You will have the ability to undertake CALM procedures Self motivated.

You will be self reliant, committed to high standards of care for children & young people.

You will have the ability to work a three shift system including waking nights

You will be registered with SSSC within a specified timescale.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
