Based in Fairbairn Street, you will work full time, 35 hours per week.
The working pattern for this posts is currently based on a 10 week rota. The rota covers waking night hours within the house.

You will have 3 National 4s, or equivalent and/or any other relevant qualification which provides evidence of academic achievement equivalent to or above SCQF Level 7 or you will have the ability to undertake HNC and SVQ Level 3 training.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of a high quality care environment in which children and young people are offered safety and security to grow, to help children and young people to make use of services and information as appropriate to their full advantage and to assist in the promotion of effective communication by and with children and young people to this end.
You will have experience and understanding of working collaboratively with children and young people and their families and carers. You will have understanding the emotional practical & social care needs of young people. You will have an understanding of young people’s needs, the issues affecting them as individuals and the issues affecting them in a group living setting. You will be committed to high standards of care for children & young people. You will be able to undertake CALM procedures.
You will have effective communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be self motivated and self reliant.
You will have experience of working effectively in a team. You will have ability to undertake Moving & Handling procedures.
You will have ability to work permanent night shift and ability to work up to 31 weekends.
You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
