The Learning Disability Service in Dundee is a joint Social Work and Health team providing a range of services to adults with a learning disability which include housing support, care at home, social care, respite and day opportunities. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Social Care Workers to join our teams across Dundee where you will work on a casual basis.
You will have, or be able to undertake and achieve, SVQ2 in Care. You will have 3 National 4s, or equivalent.
You will undertake duties concerned within the operation of Learning Disability Service whilst adhering to to the Scottish Social Services Council, Codes of Practice and The Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care, National Care Standards.
You will have experience of working within a care setting, working within a team, and on your own initiative. Personal care and communication skills are also essential, along with the ability to contribute to planning and decision making. Flexibility is essential as you must be available at short notice and be able to work various shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and nights. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
