Based in the Community Mental Health Team at Alloway Centre, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. The team supports people affected by severe and enduring mental health problems between the ages of 16 and 65.
You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).
You will assist with maintaining vulnerable people in the community by providing a range of care management tasks. These include the assessment of individual needs, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages.
You will have working knowledge and experience of risk and needs assessment and Adult Support and Protection procedures. You will be interested in working with adults who suffer from severe and enduring mental illness with the ability to assess their needs, and also have sound knowledge of community care services.
Good verbal and written communication is essential and an ability to work effectively with a variety of other agencies is also required.
You will be able to prioritise workloads and meet challenges and deadlines.
You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
This post is considered regulated work with adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG scheme or under a PVG scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
