Requirements

You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).

Responsibilities

You will assist in maintaining people in the community by providing a range of social work and care management tasks. These include the assessment of individual need, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages.

The Individual

You will have working knowledge and experience of risk and needs assessments.

You will have experience and knowledge of social work values, interest in working with adults affected by substance misuse and/or blood borne virus and knowledge of community care services and adult support and protection.

You will have good communication skills - verbal/written. The ability to assess needs of adults affected by substance misuse and/or blood borne virus. The ability to prioritise workloads and meet challenges and deadlines and demonstrate social work values.

You will have the ability to build good, trusting relationships with service users, colleagues and other professional staff, and the ability to be an effective team member.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
