Based within Criminal Justice Services, Friarfield House, Barrack Street, Dundee, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
You will have a Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS (with appropriate option).
You will provide an effective high quality service to individuals and their families. Use professional social work skills to assess risk and need and provide supervisory, preventative and rehabilitative approaches to reducing reoffending. Undertake a range of statutory duties for which the Social Work Department is responsible. To represent the service in a range of settings including Court.
You will have experience of collaborative work with other agencies and of working with adults, children and families. You will be able to communicate effectively with individuals and their families, undertake assessments of risk and need and work to fixed timescales. You will be committed to the promotion of positive outcomes for individuals, have personal confidence and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will be available to work beyond normal hours when the needs of the service and service users require this. You will be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale. This post is considered regulated work with adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
