Based at Claverhouse Community Care you will work full time, 37 hours per week, temporary until 1 September 2019. Secondments will be considered. Line Manager approval should be sought prior to applying for secondment.
You will have Diploma in Social Work / CQSW / CSS (with appropriate option).
The Health and Social Care Partnership are committed to promoting and increasing the take up of Self-directed Support and in particular direct payments to enable people using social care services, maintain choice, control and independence over their own lives in the community. This includes the need to conduct outcome focussed assessment of individual need, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages with a particular focus on direct payments.
You will have extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of working with adults, experience and knowledge of Adult Support & Protection Procedures and previous experience of implementing direct payments. An understanding of Social Care and Direct Payment legislation, guidance and practice relevant to service users and carers is also essential, along with possession of skills to promote direct payment amongst service users and professionals both in groups and individually. You will be able to apply an individualised, outcome based approach to service delivery, be committed and able to apply the model of supporting choice and independence for service users and carers within the community and to facilitate self-advocacy whilst supporting people to achieve independent living. You will be willing to undertake further related training. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council. You will be registered or have the ability to register with Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale.
