Job Description

Based in one of the following Dundee Secondary schools, working full time, appointments will be made to specific schools on permanent basis. Requirements

You will be GTCS Registered (Secondary) in August 2023, have knowledge of relevant curriculum areas and an awareness of main current issues in Scottish education. Applications will be accepted from teachers who are currently provisionally registered with the GTCS and who expect to gain full registration at the end of this current session. For Roman Catholic schools you will require approval as regards religious belief and character by representatives of the church or denominational body in whose interest the school has been conducted prior to interview for any RC school. Approval should be sought through the application on the SCES website – sces.org.uk and submitted to Mrs Moira Leck, RC representative at moira.red@hotmail.com

You will deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute, within the collegiate ethos, to the professional life of the school

The Individual

You will also demonstrate application and knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and have evidence of appropriate Professional Learning in a range of areas. In addition you will have a positive and caring approach and commitment to young people, have good communication/ interpersonal skills and relate well to others. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will require to join the PVG Scheme to undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
