We are looking for individuals to join a pair of secondary schools to improve numeracy outcomes for young people in S1 to S3. The post is part of the Children and Families Service approach to closing the poverty-related attainment gap specifically in numeracy. Based in a dedicated pair of secondary schools, working full time, 35 hours per week, temporary until 31 March 2019. Previous applicants need not re-apply.
You will be GTCS Registered (Primary or Secondary), with a knowledge of the relevant curriculum area (numeracy) and an awareness of the main current issues in Scottish education.
You will deliver quality education to assigned S1-S3 pupils and contribute, within the collegiate ethos, to the professional life of the school.
You will demonstrate application and knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence as well as the new National Qualifications structure and evidence of appropriate Professional Learning. In addition, you will have a positive and caring approach and commitment to young people, have good communication/ interpersonal skills and relate well to others. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council
