Based at Kingsway Care Centre you will work full time, 37 hours per week. Where the successful candidate is a current employee of a local authority, the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of Dundee City Council. Where the successful candidate is a current employee of an NHS employer the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of NHS Tayside. However, the successful candidate may opt to be employed by Dundee City Council or NHS Tayside.
In the event that the successful candidate is not currently employed by a local authority or NHS employer, they will be given the choice of who will be the appropriate employer.
You will have a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Work or AHP qualification and be registered with the appropriate body
To provide professional leadership as first line manager with day to day operational management responsibility for a team or teams of staff delivering front line mental health and social work services, whilst ensuring high standards of practice parameters and service provision are maintained.
You will lead the CMHTOP West including the psychiatric hospital liaison service. The team provides support to individuals with mental health needs over the age of 65 in Dundee, and under 65 with a diagnosis of Dementia. You will be joining an integrated service and must be able to work independently, under the guidance of the Community Team Manager. The team consists of social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, pharmacists, community mental health nurses and medical staff. You will be responsible for the direct line management of nurses, social workers, allied health professionals and support staff.
You will have proven supervisory, management and leadership experience. You will have fieldwork experience and of multi-disciplinary working. You will have knowledge and experience of using Adult Support and Protection legislation and sound knowledge of community care services.
You will have good organisational skills and communication skills including the use of functional information systems. You will have the ability to lead, advise, assess and respond to critical situations.
