Job Description

Based at various locations in Dundee, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Dundee City Council is committed to supporting youth employment through its employability agenda and are seeking to offer unemployed or underemployed graduates the opportunity to gain experience on a temporary basis for 12 months.

This graduate work experience opportunity is focused to target unemployment in the Dundee area and only available for candidates aged 24 and under. Please ensure if you are applying for a graduate work experience opportunity that you are aged 24 and under and have graduated within the last 3 years. You must also have a Dundee address. Requirements

You will be educated to degree level in communications, marketing or other relevant subject and have graduated within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

You will undertake a 12 month work experience placement to support a co-ordinated approach to services for Care Experienced Young People in line with Dundee’s strategic planning; liaising with appropriate agencies; listening to and representing the views of young people; and helping reshape services to meet the transformational needs of Care Experienced Young People and Care Leavers in an integrated and collaborative manner.

The Individual

You will have experience of working effectively in a team.

You will be able to co-ordinate, collate and analyse information and you will have the ability to develop relevant improvement plans and have digital and analysis skills. You will also have knowledge of social media platforms.

You will have good communication skills and an understanding of the emotional, practical and social care needs of care experienced young people.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
