Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.
We have a range of exciting opportunities to join our vibrant Football Development coaching team, assisting with the delivery of sports opportunities across the city.
We are currently seeking to recruit Assistant Coaches to support the delivery within our pre-school programme (3-5yrs) and primary programme (5-12yrs). Classes run Monday to Saturday at various times, 35 weeks per year. There are a variety of hours available.
Both contracted and casual opportunities are available, please indicate on your application form which you are applying for.
For contracted hours, times of work and locations are changeable depending on the needs of the programme.
For casual work, when work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure & Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £10.34 per hour.
You will hold a Scottish FA ‘Introduction to Coaching Qualification’ (1:1)
As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport section, you will assist in the delivery of the Football programmes for Leisure & Culture Dundee, supporting a variety of individuals and groups, whilst adhering, where relevant, to Scottish Governing Body (SGB) guidelines and specified coach to participant ratios
You will have a general interest in Football and have experience in assisting practical paid/voluntary sports coaching working with children from a variety of backgrounds in a physical setting.
You must be strongly self-motivated with excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with children and young people.
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and you must be flexible and adaptable.
You must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekend work where required, as well as undertaking personal development.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment/ work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
