Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.
This is a 37 hours post, term time only, primarily based in the Braeview Cluster schools. The post holder will Co-ordinate and implement Cash Back School of Rugby in partnership with, Dundee Rugby, Active Schools. Braeview Academy and Scottish Rugby. The post is part of the Dundee Active Schools Team and will be managed by the Active Schools Manager.
This is a fixed term post until 31 March 2023.
For existing Leisure and Culture Dundee and Dundee City Council employees secondments will be considered. Line Manager approval should be sought prior to applying for a secondment.
You will have an HNC in a sports related field and/or relevant workplace experience.
UKCC Rugby level 2 coaching award (or equivalent)
You will have practical experience in coaching Rugby to a wide variety of age groups and have experience of organising, developing and delivering a sports programme. It is also essential the post holder has experience working in a primary/secondary school setting.
Furthermore, the post holder should have experience of working with hard to reach groups and collecting and reporting information. The post holder will also have experience in co-ordinating and delivering a community events and organising festivals.
Experience in of working with coaches and volunteers and an understanding of club development issues and current schemes is also a requirement of the post.
The post holder should have an ability to use a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, E-mail, as well as having excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage workload and time effectively.
The post holder must have the ability to motivate others particularly young people from hard to reach groups and the ability to work on own initiative. They should also have the ability to build effective working relationships and manage conflict situations.
The post holder must be willing to work flexible hours including evening and weekend work where required. Must be willing to undertake personal development.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
