Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.
We have a range of exciting opportunities to join our vibrant Sport Development coaching team delivering sports opportunities across the city.
We are currently seeking to recruit Lead Sports Coaches (Casual) to deliver a recreational Gymnastics/Trampoline programme based within the Dick McTaggart Regional Gymnastics Centre and the Lynch and Douglas Sports Centres.
Get involved in our Netball programme offering coaching and competition opportunities for juniors and adults across the city and help to develop the sport into the number 1 choice for girls and women in Dundee.
We are also offering coaching opportunities within our Mini Hawks Athletics programme running in partnership with Dundee Hawkhill Harriers. Mini Hawks caters for beginner Athletes in P1 all the way to P7 offering the opportunity to build and improve Run, Jump and Throw skills and techniques across a wide range of Athletics events.
When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure and Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £10.49 per hour.
You will have a UKCC Level 2 Scottish Gymnastics, Trampoline, Athletics or Netball Scotland Level 1 (depending on which sport you are applying for) plus relevant delivery experience.
As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport section, you will lead in the delivery of the Gymnastics, Trampoline, Netball, Tennis, Football or Athletics programmes for Leisure & Culture Dundee, coaching to a variety of individuals and groups, whilst adhering, where relevant, to Scottish Governing Body (SGB) guidelines and specified coach to participant ratios.
You will have a general interest in Gymnastics, Trampoline, Netball or Athletics and have experience in practical paid/voluntary sports coaching and working with children/adults from a variety of backgrounds in a physical activity setting. You must have excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work in a team and work independently. You must be strongly self-motivated with excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with children and young people.
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and you must be flexible and adaptable.
Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekend work where required, as well as undertaking personal development.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
