Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com Based at Olympia, you will work 37 hours a week. You will work in the Leisure & Sport section of Leisure and Culture Dundee This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the organisation and development of LACD’s flagship leisure and swim facility.

Responsibilities

To lead the organisation and development of Olympia Leisure Centre and be accountable for financial and social performance and take full responsibility for effectively addressing all health & safety requirements relating to the activities, operational facilities and customer-focused services. To plan and manage the service developments within Olympia Leisure Centre to deliver the Organisation's stated purposes and obligations within the Services Agreement with Dundee City Council.

The Individual

You will have knowledge and experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment and of pool and leisure facility management. You will have experience of managing and motivating staff. You will have a working knowledge of sports or leisure structures and be able to demonstrate experience in Health and Safety management. You will also have experience of exercising sound financial management and interpreting performance data. You should be able to demonstrate strong, leadership, organisational and planning skills, with experience of project management and the effective management of resources, including Marketing and promotion. You will be a self-motivator with the ability to work in a team, encourage teamwork and meet deadlines. You will have strong interpersonal skills, be diplomatic, flexible and adaptable and willing to work flexible hours and occasional weekends. With the ability to work on your own initiative and motivate others and a willingness to undertake training and development. You should also have a current valid driving licence.
