Job Purpose
Contribute to and facilitate a range of group fitness and exercise class based programmes to a diverse range of service users in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of East Ayrshire Leisure’s Business Plan and the Sports and Fitness Team Plan.

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Leisure. Please note:- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
Rate of Pay
45 min class £20.22 (includes 45 minutes development time)
30 min class £13.48 (includes 30 minutes development time)
Cover is predominantly required for classes within the new Barony Sports Complex, Cumnock which is due to open early 2021. This is a multicentre post so you may be required to work in various facilities across East Ayrshire.
Candidate must hold relevant SVQ Level 3 in a Leisure related subject or equivalent i.e. SCQF Level 6 Exercise and Fitness – Exercise to Music or CYQ Certificate in Exercise to Music.
You may be required to work evenings and weekends.
Responsibilites
Contribute to the planning and facilitation of a range of group fitness and exercise initiatives, utilising a range of pre-prepared materials that meet the identified needs of service users across East Ayrshire.
Contribute to the development and promotion of group fitness and exercise initiatives and provide individual support and guidance to service users to assist them in achieving their personal goals.
Ensure attendees are encouraged to participate in a range of classes incorporating fitness, exercise and movement activities providing clear visual and verbal instruction and utilising a range of equipment that is safe to use.
Foster and develop good communications with participants in order to collate to obtain qualitative feedback in support the continued evaluation of the delivery of the Sport and Fitness Team Plan.
