Job Purpose

Assist with the delivery of a range of recreational activities in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of East Ayrshire Leisure’s Business Plan and the Sport and Community Venues Team Plan.

Additional Information

To be considered for interview, candidates must demonstrate that they meet all essential criteria of the attached job specification. Assist in the preparation and delivery of fitness and exercise activities ensuring all equipment used is checked prior to use and securely stored at the end of events. Assist the Sport and Community Venues management in providing safe and fit venues for public use ensuring that all areas are clean and operational in line with the current maintenance and reporting procedures and Health and Safety legislation. Carry out a range of front desk duties responding to general enquiries, dealing with correspondence and taking activity bookings. Demonstrate a professional approach when dealing with customers and deal with all enquiries in accordance with the principles of good customer care.

Rate of Pay

Rate of Pay- £7.24 per hour, this is supported by the Scottish Living Wage of £8.51 per hour. Hours of Work - Friday -1.30pm-10.30pm Saturday- 9.30am-6.30pm This post is temporary until 31st March 2018.


Undertake a range of administration duties including process mail, completing paper work and maintaining electronic databases and spreadsheets in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Undertake financial duties including maintaining petty cash funds, processing financial documents and cash handling in accordance with the Council’s Financial Regulations. Carry out any duties associated with the usage of fitness equipment ensuring all items are operated, maintained, cleaned and stored securely, reporting any defects to the Activity Leader in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, risk assessments and current regulations. Assist with the preparation of equipment in advance of exercise activities ensuring all items are checked and safe to use in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance and operating instructions. Ensure all equipment is checked, cleaned prior to being securely stored after use.
