Job Purpose

Undertaking the effective management of the Pollution Control team and Corporate Enforcement Unit of the Environmental Health Department. Ensuring the various functions within the post’s remit are operated and delivered in accordance with statutory requirements and council policy in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within the Governance Service Plan and the Community Plan. Discharging all relative provisions relating to Environmental Protection Act, Housing Acts, Air Quality, Private Water Supplies, Pest Control enforcement and related activity.

This is a permanent full time post. the admin base for this post is Civic Centre South, John Dickie Street, Kilmarnock.

Normal office hours are Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm & Friday 9am - 4pm

Annual salary £43,553 - £47,629


The workstyle for this post is ‘Flexible’ - 50-79% of time is office based. Able to work at different/ multiple work locations. Occasionally works at home, or another location 1-2 days per week, or directly home to external appointments.
