Job Summary

This post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council.

 

East Dunbartonshire Council’s Housing Service has an exciting opportunity for a passionate pro-active person to provide support to the Housing Operations Team.

The Housing Services Support Assistant post will involve daily contact with the team and the post holder will play a crucial part in the smooth running of the Housing Service.

You should have previous housing experience and be aware of up to date housing legislation as well as key internal policies and procedures.

 

 

 

Job Summary contd

Duties will include:

  • Providing and participating in a comprehensive business service in order to ensure continuity of front-line service activity in tasks such as data input, telephone enquiries, mail, taking and managing bookings/applications and transactional processing activity.
  • Involved in day-to-day business work including a variety of digital systems, document management systems, intranet/internet updates and IT packages in order to support front-line Housing Service delivery.
  • Providing assistance to the Housing operations team to ensure an exceptional front line service is provided to tenants.
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders such as Team Leaders, Advisers and colleagues in other service areas and departments to assess service requirements and take action as appropriate in relation to the task/activity/enquiry.
  • Working with colleagues throughout Housing Services to ensure all reviews, consultations, surveys etc are delivered and all submission information is processed and saved.
  • Responsibility for identifying risk in relation to front-line service delivery and escalating concerns where appropriate to the Housing Management Team.
  • Responsibility for supporting new ways of working, implementation of new initiatives and culture change within Housing Services.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. 

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead. 

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary. 

The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
