Vacancy Information
It is East Lothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be placed on the first point of the salary scale. The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Macmerry Primary School serves the ex-mining village of Macmerry and surrounding area. There are six classes from P1 - P7 and a Nursery class. The school is very much part of the community and we enjoy positive relationships with the whole school family.
The school team is dedicated to increasing the life chances of our school family and as a result the expectations are high for all team members. All staff are committed to ensuring every child receives a high quality education. Pupils throughout the whole school are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and behaviour, are active participants in the decision making process and ensure they are the best they can be. Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs
Nursery Only: SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.
PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups are required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
