Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year).  Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £12.77-£13.75 per hour

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday-Thursday 08.30-16.00, Friday 08.30-12.45
This is a 39 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days

An opportunity has arisen for a school Business Administrator to lead the administrative function at Stoneyhill Primary School which encompasses a wide variety of tasks and a high standard of customer service for all our school community and stakeholders. ; The role requires excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel to support the financial monitoring and reporting required to assist the Head Teacher to manage the school budget effectively.  Applications from experienced administrators who can demonstrate they are confident using spreadsheets to track financial transactions and with some HR or school experience would be welcomed.  If you are well organised and can multi-task whilst being able to organise others; feel you are capable of using your initiative under pressure to meet deadlines and can deal with people on all levels this varied role offers a rewarding opportunity to be part of a small team and school community.

Stoneyhill Primary School was built in 1996 and is a non-denominational primary school situated at the west end of Musselburgh.  The school caters for children from ages 3 to 12.  At the time of writing, there are eight classes P1-P7 in school, with a total roll of 180.  The school nursery caters for 3 and 4 year olds and is using the 48 week model. 

Set within a pleasing landscaped area, the main school is of an extremely attractive, semi-open plan design.  Eight class bays open onto a central multi-purpose group activity area. An extension comprises of 4 closed classrooms, a purpose built nursery, Support for Learning room, resource room, offices, medical room and sports hall. The school is accessible to those with physical disabilities. The school also has a modern kitchen, which enables the pupils to have a packed lunch or a cafeteria hot meal of the day. 

There are attractive grounds around the school with a garden.

Closed circuit television and an effective intruder alarm system protect the school.

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to HNC/SVQ3 in Administration or Information Management or equivalent and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
