It is East Lothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be placed on the first point of the salary scale. The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £9.34-£9.47
Days and Hours of Work:
Monday-Wednesday, 7 hours per day
This is a 39 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Assistant (part-time), based in the busy school office primarily on reception dealing with the pupils, visitors to the school, general public and supporting school staff with basic office administration and reprographics.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and have the ability to communicate their enthusiasm to all school users. Training in the use of council systems is available, but some confidence using Microsoft Office or previous receptionist experience would be an advantage. Flexibility is essential in this post together with good people skills and a calm and caring nature.
To assist in the provision of administrative, clerical, reception and information support to the school through a range of tasks carried out within well-defined regulations.

A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
