25 hours permanent post
19 hours temporary secondment cover for approx. 6 months

We are looking for an enthusiastic Community Development Assistant to join East Lothian's Connected Communities team at the Port Seton Centre.  Working within a busy community centre you will be involved in a range of tasks assisting bookings, community groups, café, COVID cleaning practices, admin and day to day enquiries.

This is an excellent opportunity to support community members and groups through bookings and groups to improve their health and wellbeing, reduce social isolation and support an extremely valuable community resource.

Job Details

To support and assist in the day to day delivery of front line Community Development services, in accordance with local and Council procedures.

Able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience

This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
