Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week).  Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay:  £11.25-£12.11

Days and Hours of Work:
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 10:00-13:00, 14:00-17:00
Every second Saturday, 10:00-13:00
To start asap.

The sucessful candidate will be expected to promote reading for pleasure and wellbeing, help organise events, develop and lead groups for children and adults (e.g. bookbug, homework clubs, reading groups, reminiscence groups), alongside increasing digital literacy.

This role will be based mainly within Port Seton Library but may include working in our other libraries primarily in Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Tranent and Wallyford.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
A minimum of SVQ 1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge/ skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
