**Given the uncertain situation regarding schools re-opening to pupils, we may be unable to confirm start dates to the successful candidates.  Successful candidates should not hand their notice in until they have received a written contract of employment stating their start date.

This is an exciting time to be part of the expansion of Early Years in East Lothian. With new service models being implemented in our schools in order to support the expansion of the service and support the increase in hours, we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Early Years Manager who will share our values and lead our Early Years teams across a small cluster of schools. You will be based in one school and have responsibility for one or more Early Years settings. You will be a strong and dynamic nursery leader, with a proven track record of managing and developing experienced staff teams and with knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures required as a staff manager.

The Centre Managers will be responsible for the efficient running of the nursery, delivering high standards of care, effectively leading and managing professional staff teams and creating and maintaining relationships with parents and carers. The successful candidate will be able to lead learning, plan for and implement relevant national and local policies and be passionate about giving children the best start in order to reach their potential and have a life-long love for learning.

Applicants must hold a Degree level qualification in Education, Childcare, Social work or equivalent qualification enabling “Manager” registration with the SSSC. In addition, extensive experience of working with children and managing a service in an early learning and childcare setting is essential.

Interviews will be held before in June 2020 and start dates will be discussed with successful applicants but likely to be as soon as possible.

Job Details

To take a lead role in the review and implementation of strategies and procedures designed to enhance the children’s learning experience.  Responsible for all Nursery classes in one or more schools, monitoring and reporting on the delivery of a high quality, child centred service, for children aged between 2 and 5 over the duration of the service opening times.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Must hold Degree level qualification in education, Childcare, Social Work or equivalent, or equivalent qualification enabling “Manager” registration with the SSSC, with extensive experience of working with children and managing the service in an early learning and childcare setting; or GTCS registered.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
