Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay:  £13.80-£14.78

2 x 30 hour posts avaialble (4 days per week). 
Early shifts start at 07:00-15:00 with a half hour break.
Late shifts start at 14:00-22:00 with a half hour break.
Preferred candidates will be on a flexible rota that will be issued weekly and they will be covering annual leave and sickness absence.

The Emergency Care Service was developed in partnership between East Lothian Council and the NHS, and is responsible for delivering a 24 hour / 7 day service across East Lothian.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who have a caring nature and excellent communication skills who must have experience and understanding of the issues relating to the specific needs of older adults.

Job Details

To deliver an emergency service (24 hours 7 days per week) providing personal care and support to older people living in their own homes, in line with Department policies, procedures and standards.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
SVQ 2 in Social Services and Healthcare and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

If you do not hold the above qualification, you will be required to undertake a course of study to obtain an SVQ Level 2 qualification within the required timescale to meet the requirements of SSSC.

Driving Licence 
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
