A new opportunity has arisen within the Council's Housing Strategy & Development team to help deliver the Scottish Government's ambitious Area Based Energy Efficiency Programme in conjunction with the Council's own energy efficiency programme. We are seeking a a dynamic individual who can assist our Senior Energy Efficiency Officer to drive forward this ambitious programme and assist in identifying new interventions which will contribute towards both national and local objectives to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.
Home Working Consideration
Although usually office based, this post may be considered for a homeworking contract (either fully or on an ad hoc basis) in accordance with East Lothian Council’s Home Working and Worksmart Policies, and the requirements of the service.
To work collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive forward an ambitious and innovative Energy Efficiency programme across all housing tenures in East Lothian in accordance with legal requirements and the Scottish Government’s Energy Efficient Scotland Programme.
To assist the Senior Energy Officer in supervising both internal and external contractors to achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the energy efficiency programme
To assist the Senior Energy Officer to identify and explore new interventions and implement delivery to help contribute towards a reduction in carbon emissions and tackling fuel poverty.

Degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Energy/Building Surveying and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience in delivering energy efficiency programmes.
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*
