Home Working Consideration
Although usually office based, this post may be considered for a homeworking contract (either fully or on an ad hoc basis) in accordance with East Lothian Council’s Home Working and Worksmart Policies, and the requirements of the service.

Job Details

As a key member of the wider Finance Team, the Financial Accountant will be expected to:
Take a lead role in ensuring the successful delivery of the Council’s annual statutory financial accounts and its financial reporting obligations.
Take a lead role in ensuring the production of financial accounting information to enable the Council to manage its resources appropriately.
Work collaboratively across the Finance Team and with Managers across the Council to support them to manage the financial resources and assets as efficiently as possible, providing appropriate financial advice and guidance to support service delivery and facilitate any future transformational change agenda.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Qualified accountant with membership of a CCAB (CIPFA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) professional accounting body combined with substantial knowledge, skills and competencies gained through experience in a financial environment.
