Home Working Consideration
Although usually office based, this post may be considered for a homeworking contract (either fully or on an ad hoc basis) in accordance with East Lothian Council’s Home Working and Worksmart Policies, and the requirements of the service.

A new opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated individuals to join our Housing Strategy Team to help develop and implement our Local Housing Strategy. You will be working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to review, monitor and update key policies and procedures and help shape and deliver a housing strategy framework which meets the needs of a vibrant, dynamic and growing part of Scotland. This opportunity has arisen at a particularly exciting time, with the new National Housing Strategy Housing 2040 being the key driver for change. You will have a commitment to achieving best value and meeting wider cross service outcomes, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and research experience and enjoy working as part of a team.

Job Details

To contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of housing, regeneration and energy efficiency policies and strategies, in accordance with relevant legislation, the Council’s Local Housing Strategy, housing policies and agreed standards and priorities, with a commitment to achieving best value and meeting cross-service outcomes.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Degree Level Qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject, e.g. Housing / Social policy and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

The preferred candidate for this position may be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
