Working on an 'as and when required' basis across East Lothian
To start 4th July
East Lothian Council are currently recruiting Casual Tutors to develop and deliver Community-based English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses.
Jobholders would typically be educated to Degree level and the successful candidate must hold a minimum of CELTA (Certificate of Language Teaching to Adults) or equivalent and have experience of delivering ESOL to a range of abilities and ages in a community-based setting. Familiarity with ESOL Literacies and experience of working with vulnerable groups, such as individuals with additional support needs and, especially, with refugees and asylum seekers are also desirable but not essential.
To deliver a range of ESOL courses to adults and young people (post school). Use appropriate methods to promote learning and achievement, including the associated activities related to the preparation, delivery and assessment of courses.

CELTA in ESOL or equivalent qualification
Experience of tutoring/teaching groups in an ESOL context
A full current driving licence and/or access to a vehicle are desirable for this post

The preferred candidate for this position may be subject to a Basic Disclosure Check carried out by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
