This position is only open to young people aged between 16 and 19 years of age who reside in East Lothian
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a modern apprenticeship supporting Customer Feedback, FOI (freedom of information) and providing general admin support across Customer Support.
The Modern Apprenticeship will be based at John Muir House, Haddington with ongoing support from an external training provider to achieve the SVQ level 3 in Business Administration. The duration of the apprenticeship will be for a fixed term of 18 months, with the successful candidate commencing the post in late in early 2018.
The apprenticeship is only available to young people aged between 16 and 19 year old an who reside in East Lothian.
With good interpersonal skills, you will be a flexible team player, confident and able to converse with members of the public. Daily duties will include answering the telephone, processing mail - both written and electronic, word processing and a variety of general office tasks of which will include data entry into spreadsheets and databases.
Training in the use of specialist software packages ( if applicable )will be provided, however a basic knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office packages is desirable.
To undertake a Modern Apprenticeship Business Administration Level 3 and provide an efficient and effective clerical support to Council Support – Unified Business Support.

A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or relevant experience of working in an office environment.
This post involves accessing the public services network, therefore the preferred candidate will be subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS). The preferred candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
